This spring, the Association of Diplomacy in Practice celebrates its 10th anniversary with a roundtable discussion, and a reception with the active participation of both the current and the former members of the organisation. Dr László Csicsmann, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and International Relations of the Corvinus University of Budapest commenced the event as the first speaker, expressing his appreciation towards the goals and mission of the organisation. Gábor Bakos, the founder and the first president of the Association also delivered an opening speech, enhancing the importance of teamwork, which led the organisation through a decade. The first president of the Association was followed by the current president, Dániel Paschek, who summarised the highlights of the last 10 years’ work and also surprised his audience with an announcement. Our Association is honoured to receive the one-year-long accreditation for a college for advanced studies status, which is a tremendous milestone regarding the recent changes in our Organization. The professional atmosphere of the event was guaranteed by a roundtable discussion having invited Gergely Romsics, researcher at the Institute of Foreign Affairs and Trade, László Kovács, former Foreign Minister, and dr. István Mikola, Minister of State for Security Policy and International Cooperation as guest speakers. The speakers have discussed the diplomatic career, cultural and modern diplomacy, and the complexity of Hungarian foreign policy. As the topping of the event, the participants clinked glasses of champagne for the future of the organisation, sharing their memories in a nostalgic atmosphere. We wish to accomplish several more anniversaries, and we hereby thank the ones who enabled the Association of Diplomacy in Practice to achieve its history in the past 10 years!
